About Us - Richardson, TX
We are Benn & Jennifer Shannon and we make up A Different Perspective Photography. This is a business we have dreamed about for a long time and put into reality approx 1½ years ago. We have just opened our studio in a the very popular baby store Peppermint Baby Boutique. Now that we have the studio, we can better handle all your photography needs. This gives us the ability to do formal studio sessions now while still doing our most favorite outdoor sessions. We enjoy outdoor sessions so much because it gives the family time to interact and we are allowed to take part in their most precious times.
Jennifer runs the business full time and also cares for our newborn, Audrey Rose. Any of you mothers and fathers out there that care for a child and work at the same time know how demanding this is. Including Audrey Rose, we have 8 children between the two of us and 5 grandchildren. It goes without saying, we love children and that may be one of the reasons we love taking pictures of them so much.
Jennifer has a background in Business Administration. She is also a very talented artist who has won awards for paintings she has done in the past as well as had numerous paintings sold at auctions. She even developed a painting technique that is used with children and cancer patients that help them release their emotions and energies in a very creative manner. Jennifer truly believes in living life to the fullest and helping others to do the same.
Benn works full time for The City of Plano as a 911 Dispatcher. He feels very strongly about giving back to the community that gives him so much. He has been in community service most of his adult life starting at the age of 16 as a Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT in Baltimore, MD. Benn has enjoyed photography all his life from an early age when he used to help his father in his darkroom. Benn likes to say that there is not a child he can not make smile. He gets down on their level and will play with them for long periods of time just to gain their trust. Plus, we believe that he really enjoys playing with their toys! Many a child (and adult for that matter) has come in fearing the camera and the unknown people and left giving Benn and Jennifer a very large hug and "thank you"
Like Jennifer says, "Let us show you what happens when passion meets photography".
